Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles California has reported a data breach of at least 500 patients at the facility when an employees laptop computer was stolen from their home during a burglary in June 2014. The laptop was password protected.The records on the laptop included specific patient data such as lab testing, treatment and diagnosis, Social Security numbers and other personal information. When the breach was made public, Cedars-Sinai hospital reported that 500 patient files were on the stolen laptop.
