University Development and Alumni Relations at the Penn State College of Medicine - 10/07/2014
Penn State has notified 1,176 individuals that a data breach of their personal information had been breached. The Office of University Development and Alumni Relations at the Penn State College of Medicine was found to be "infected with malware that enabled it to communicate with an unauthorized computer outside the network". The university used Social Security numbers as a personally identifiable number for students and these SSNs were found in an archived College of Medicine alumni list last used in 2005.
